How I sold a $5/ month earning blog for $1000

After failing with five different sites, I finally managed to flip one for $1,000—despite it barely earning anything!

Now, I’m going to reveal:

:one: What I did differently from others to rank in Tier 1 countries (US, UK)

:two: Can a $5/$10/$20 month earning blog be sold for $1000 or more

:three: How I got instant traffic in the 2nd month

Now let’s go:

First, after watching niche finding series and paid blogging courses on (Blogger Vikash). It opened my mind when I heard about Motion Invest (where people buy and sell sites).

As I was regularly getting emails of new listed sites. One day in the morning, I got an awesome niche site (that was listed at around $10,000). It had around 200 articles and a few root domains.

Since the contents were easy to write (it was like jokes), I picked the niche, did competitive analysis to find all of its competitors, their top ranking pages, and keywords.

I have shortlisted every site with their root domains, number of articles, etc. (as explained on the paid blogging course).

I had booked a brandable domain at the beginning of September 2025. One week of designing, researching, and overthinking later, I finally hit publish.

Now here’s what I did differently (during this week): I made a Facebook profile for my site’s author, I added his qualifications, experience, and some images (around the niche of the blog).

I have also joined niche-related groups and engaged with the members.

I have written the About Us page of the blog with that same education and numbers. I have added a Facebook profile there.

And then I published my first blog. It was difficult to write jokes as I’m not a poet😄.

So I used ChatGPT wisely. I used a detailed prompt and edited each article twice or sometimes thrice.

I have set a frequency for each article every day at a fixed time (that also helps in ranking and indexing). I have never broken this rule.

For instant traffic, I made a Pinterest account and published 3 to 5 pin images per day, which brought me 100 visitors from the 2nd month (from tier 1 country)

In terms of backlinks, I only made profile backlinks, and I have also created a YouTube channel but didn’t post a video, just got a link.

I didn’t face any indexing errors, even though my posts were indexed without having a search console account. (Because I published 20 articles, and then touched the console)

The first two months?

Pure disappointment (which, let’s be honest, is pretty normal). I got 30 to 40 clicks.

But in November, Google started noticing me😉, I got 100+ clicks, and then at the end of December, it was 3000+ clicks.

I applied for AdSense in November and got approved within a week. (I earned $1.59 in November and $7.74 in December, a total of $9.33 approx)

I thought that I could sell it, so after trying ways to find the site’s worth (I stumbled upon the Motion Invest valuation tool). After filling out the form, it said, Your site is worth $400. (:smirk: I thought, how is it possible for a barely earning site to have such value?)

I got an email from the motion invest team. I reached out to them (there was an option of selling the site directly).

After asking, they said; You can’t sell directly, but you can provide the details, and we’ll give you the right evaluation for listing on our marketplace.

I have given the details, and they came up with a $1000 valuation (I agreed , and filled the form of listing form.)

The site was sold within 3 hours. After the transfer and everything, I received $600 through Wise. ($400 was a success fee; listing was free, unlike Flippa)

So, if you have traffic from Tier 1 countries and are earning $10/$20 or more, your site can easily be worth $1K, $2K, or even more.

What I Learned from This Flip:

:one: Even a barely earning blog can sell for $1,000+ if it has Tier 1 traffic.

:two: Pinterest can bring instant traffic (I was getting 100 visitors from the 2nd month).

:three: Posting at a fixed time daily helps with ranking & indexing.

:four: Motion Invest (and similar marketplaces) can help you find a buyer fast.

:five: A strong author profile & social presence make your site more legit.
